Presidents Message

I am truly honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to serve as president of the PTA. This is not a role I take lightly, as the PTA is one of the greatest taxidermy associations in the country. I have been a member, as well as a director for this association for quite some time and I hope to keep it going strong. I want to thank all current and previous officers and directors for all their hard work in making this association strong. There is a lot of hard work, time, passion, and planning going on behind the scenes to make the PTA a success.

To say there were a lot of uncertainties going into 2022 is an understatement. Following two years of COVID, a new state show venue, as well as a lot of new changes in how the show was going to be run. Having to cancel the 2021 show and hosting a virtual show in its place made 2022 a very important year.  Unfortunately, due to circumstances and potential restrictions out of our control, the 2022 show was truly up in the air till the last minute.  When the final decision was made to move forward, it was amazing the speed with which the officers and directors finalized everything and made the show come to fruition. With that said, we know it was tough for planning purposes for our members, and for that we are sorry. The board had tough decisions to make for the best interest of the association. In the end, the decision to move forward with the show was the right one.

Reflecting on the 2022 show now, it was great top see friendships renewed and made, knowledge gained and shared, and the comradery that can only be obtained in person at these events.  I want to thank each and every member who made this show a success, as well as the vendors and event staff.  Of course, there were some growing pains with a new venue, which we promise to work thru going in to 2023, We had a well-attended membership meeting and appreciate all the input that was given – we took notes and will try and improve in all those areas. We need this type of input to keep us moving in the right direction. I hope this past year has invigorated the membership going for the rest of 2022 and going into 2023. Plans are currently being made for the 2023 show and beyond. We also have some great seminars being hosted by the PTA so keep an eye out for those.

Please always keep an eye out for any communications from the PTA through all channels, including email, social media, and mail. And spread the word when talking with other taxidermist!

As always, the officers and directors are here to be an extension and voice of the membership, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any suggestions, input, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Jens E. Jorgensen,

PTA President
